European Oak, seasoned sherry from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, plays a lovely lead role in The Macallan 25 Year Old Sherry Oak, a distinctive single malt with an incredibly rich profile. After being left undisturbed for 25 years, the liquid was decanted at 43% abv.

Anticipate scents of wood, ginger syrup, raisins, sultanas, and dried orange segments. Rich dried fruit, black cherries, chocolate, and traces of crystallized ginger and toasted almonds fill the palate, which leads to a long, oak-tinged finish.

A remarkable and uncommon bottle from the Exceptional Single Cask collection by The Macallan. Distilled in October 1997, this expression was aged in an American oak refill sherry hogshead until 2018. It was then bottled at 54.1% abv, the natural cask strength. There were just 187 bottles made.

Scents of roasted wood, Madagascar vanilla, and dark brown sugar should be anticipated. Before transitioning into the medium finish, which is dominated by dark chocolate and espresso, the palate offers spicy wood, cocoa, and dried fruits.
