London Calling
To Capture The Spirit Of London, A City That Reflects So Many Different Tastes And Cultures
You can very well assume that you know a thing or two about taste if you own a company that has been named the “Best Restaurant in the World” twice. The collaboration between Steven Bremner of Macallan and the Roca Brothers, proprietors of El Cellar De Can Roca, was always expected to produce something of significant significance.
The actual whisky was chosen by Josep Roca and Steven Bremner, and it was aged for 11 years in a single European Oak Sherry puncheon after it was distilled in 2008. This specific Macallan was only available in bottles at a few hotels, pubs, and restaurants in London. In fact, this is an extremely uncommon and special release because the outturn was restricted to just 465 bottles.
The beginnings of their collaboration are extensively chronicled, including a travel film that was shown on Amazon Prime Video. The brothers with the Michelin star set out to distill the spirit of London, a city that reflects a multitude of cultures and preferences. What happened next was the creation of a limited-edition single malt whisky that was compatible with a meal at Rosewood, London’s The Macallan Manor House.
Even though we might not be able to give you the whole sensory dining experience, we can at least offer you one of the 465 bottles up for bid this month.
