Macallan – James Bond 60th Anniversary
In honor of the 60th anniversary of the entertainment industry’s longest-running franchise, master whisky maker Kirsteen Campbell of Macallan developed an amazing 43.7% ABV single malt whisky. It is planned by the ABV to honor Bonds agent number, 007. Six bottles were made available, one for each decade of the movie series. Every decade has a distinct theme that uses brief script excerpts and some planning sketches to show a behind-the-scenes look at the films from that decade.
Having Scottish ancestry, Macallan and Bond had already shared the limelight. In the movie Skyfall, Daniel Craig is seen sipping a Macallan Fine and Rare 1962 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond films. Over time, Macallan gradually became Bond’s preferred whisky.
Tickets for the exhibition “The Macallan in Cinema,” which will take place at The Macallan Estate in Speyside, were made available by Macallan earlier than the 007 bottles. across a trip across the decades, the experience offered audiences a deeper look at the creation of what is probably the most iconic movie franchise in history. In addition to their typical clientele of investors and collectors, Macallan has drawn the attention of James Bond and the 007 team with their movie tickets and six bottles.
