Any collector of whisky will tell you that there are some drams that are really interesting. This one seems to suit the bill. A 2016 Macallan Fine & Rare series bottling features a dram that was distilled in March 1991 and brought up to date. It developed over a 25-year period in American oak Vasyma puncheon casks with sherry seasoned in Jerez. As Macallan as it gets is this Highland single malt whisky. Bottled at 49.4% alcohol by volume, this is a standout version of a much sought-after series.

The nose opens out with notes of apple, dried fruit, almonds, vanilla, and nutmeg. The flavor profile is sweet and peppery, with fig and raisins undertones. Warming, fruity, velvety sweet, and slightly resinous in the aftertaste.
